Why is it that some people just don’t seem to be able to get along? I’ve asked this question so many times myself and heard countless others ask it too. As we look around we see a distinct lack of unity in our world. People disagree daily on so many things, often small and insignificant, but frequently none the less. 

 

I asked myself, ‘Why is it that so often I disagree with others?’ ‘Is it for good reasons or merely because they frustrate me?’ ‘And why is it that so often the people I disagree with most are the ones I should get on with – my family, my friends, other believers?’ And more importantly: ‘Does it even matter if I don’t get along with them all the time?’

Posess the land under His care

The land whither you go to possess it is a land of hills and valleys and drinks water of the rain of heaven: a land which the Lord thy God cares for: the eyes of the Lord are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year. (Deuteronomy 11:11-12)  

 

Today, dear friends, we stand upon the verge of the unknown. There lies before us a new year, and we are going forth to possess it. Who can tell what we shall find? What new experiences and changes shall come, what new needs shall arise? But here is the cheering, comforting, and gladdening message from our heavenly Father, "...the Lord thy God cares..."
